What benefit to ourselves, others and creation could we see if we shut everything down one day a week?
This is personal! Both for me and you. Success is about intentionality. Very little in life just "happens". So, as we discuss different topics and thoughts, let's have this in mind - intentionality! Because we all want to succeed and success is intentional!

What benefit to ourselves, others and creation could we see if we shut everything down one day a week?
Many people achieve great and mighty things by pushing the margins of their lives to near extinction. They may even look impressive with their achievements. Yet there’s little room for things that decorate humanity like peace, love, relationships and revelation.
We aren’t machines that run non-stop; even apparatus is shut down and serviced from time to time. No, we have God-given perimeters that, when heeded, keep us safe, healthy and productive.
To expect our bodies and minds to recuperate with little sleep, caffeine induced productivity and constantly working 7 days a week is expecting, even demanding, that God perform a miracle, weekly. It’s irresponsible.
Vacations can be wonderful retreats away from the ordinary, but they're not the answer to a peaceful life rhythm. We were designed to live a different pattern, one that incorporates work and rest together, as tightly knit partners.
There is absolutely no slowing the pace of society. But there is a way to find our own rhythm amidst a crazy culture hell-bent on performance and achievement.
It’s not always clear when a person’s heart and spirit are burned. Living outside of our God-designed rhythm is a disservice to others and to ourselves. Sometimes, we do such a thorough job of covering it up, by the time the symptoms appear, they're way beyond the burn.
Just like a jet, we get the most efficient “burn” when we’re flying at our designed capacity. There are times when we need a little extra push, but don't over do it. This blog explains why.
There is a God-intended rhythm to life that's been lost, even dismissed. If you're honest with yourself, deep, deep down, you know this to be true. Capturing that rhythm will change your life - forever.
To the undiscerning eye, a plot of weeds can look like neglect, irresponsibility or laziness. And in many cases it is. But to those who understand the essentiality of the rhythm of working and ceasing, it’s the precursor to life.
